Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 September 2026

CertGuild ("we", "us") operates a marketplace where training providers ("providers") publish courses and learners ("you") enrol, complete coursework, and earn certificates. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how it is handled.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information — your name, email address, and authentication credentials, managed via our authentication provider.
  • Learning activity — enrolments, lesson progress, quiz attempts and scores, assignment submissions, discussion posts, and mentoring bookings.
  • Certificates — course completion records and the certificates issued to you, which include your name and the issuing provider's name.
  • Payment information — if you purchase a paid course, payment is processed by our payment processor; we do not store your card details ourselves. We retain order and refund records for accounting purposes.
  • Communications — messages you send through the in-app inbox, discussion boards, or to support.
  • Technical data — device and browser information, IP address, and basic usage analytics where enabled.

2. How we use this information

  • To create and maintain your account and enrolments.
  • To let providers deliver their courses to you: releasing content, marking submissions, and issuing certificates.
  • To process payments, refunds, and receipts.
  • To send service emails — enrolment confirmations, marking notifications, and account-security messages.
  • To detect abuse, enforce our Terms, and keep the platform secure.

3. Who we share it with

A course's provider can see the learning activity, submissions, and messages of learners enrolled in their own courses — that is how marking and support work. Providers do not see your account activity on other providers' courses. We also share data with service providers who process it on our behalf (authentication, hosting, payment processing, and email delivery), under confidentiality obligations, and never sell personal information.

A certificate's public verification page shows only your name, the course title, the issuing provider, and the issue date — never your email address or any other account details.

4. Data retention

We keep your account and learning records for as long as your account is active, and afterwards for as long as needed to satisfy legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution obligations — certificate records in particular are retained indefinitely so they remain verifiable.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict some of our processing. Contact us at the address below to exercise these rights; we may need to verify your identity first.

6. Children's privacy

CertGuild is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date; continued use of CertGuild after a change means you accept the revised policy.

8. Contact us
